Executive Profile Building

The Nokia Design Archive was acquired by Finland-based Aalto University, through the work of former chancellor and ex-Nokia designer, Anna Valtonen. Alongside some of the university’s leading design historians, Valtonen and her team curated an Archive that organises two decades of never-before-seen prototypes, ideation decks, marketing materials and internal boardroom data into a series of user-friendly curated pathways.

Opening up conversations around our visions of the future and our collective aspirations for technology in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, the Nokia Design Archive holds up a mirror to our relationship with technology today.

In our role as Aalto University’s communications partner, our primary goal was not only to tell the story of Nokia and the Archive’s content, but also to place the research by Aalto University at the heart of the story.

We have not only secured thoughtful, research-led pieces that centre on the university’s voice, but also facilitated and opened up wider cultural discussions around the symbiotic relationship between technology and popular culture. This approach has facilitated pieces in leading publications including Fast Company, Wired, The Verge and Hypebeast, as well as nationals such as The Observer, The Telegraph and La Repubblica DOOR.
